EMBRACE UPDATE FOR MAY 2026

May brought us very hot weather.  Our rainy season should be starting and has not and we ask for your prayers for that.  They predicted that the rains would not come until June this year and that is what is happening.  It is delaying the planting for the families and obviously affects when they will be able to harvest.  It is predicting to be a hard year for the people in producing their family’s food.

Our project manager gave some training and instructions to the Embrace families on how to prepare for their backyard gardens. They will receive their “garden in a bag” at the June meetings but can prepare a place for it now.  Growing their own vegetables will be a great supplement in food for the families; providing good healthy vegetables for their families’ needs.  It is also giving them the training to be somewhat sustainable in providing for their needs.

We had a good response to our MYB (Middle of the Year Blessing) and we thank our sponsors for their generosity.  Every Embrace child will be receiving a new pair of shoes at the July meetings.  In June each family will choose the “type” of shoe that they want and we will size the children’s feet.  This allows us to make a specific order based on each child; to have ready for July.

The monthly devotional was taken from 1 Corinthians 3:7 and the health talk was on “Personal Hygiene Habits”.  We are moving forward with the special funding that we received for eco stoves and latrines.  We have installed 9 of the 13 latrines and delivered 15 of the 35 stoves to some of our Embrace families.  The remaining latrines and stoves will be completed/delivered by the beginning of June.  What a blessing to them to receive these extra blessings to improve the quality of life that they have.
