EMBRACE UPDATE FOR APRIL 2026

We weighed, measured heights and calculated the BMI for each child in April; we do this quarterly.  This allows us to track how the children are doing in their overall health.  It takes time but gives true and accurate progress reports; information that is posted so that sponsors can follow their health status.  There was a Bible devotion about being led by the Holy Spirit in our lives.  The health talk was to give a physical demonstration on how to properly disinfect fruit and vegetables; along with a video on proper food preparation.  Each family received a plastic tub to be used for this purpose; something that we give out once a year.  Families receive bleach every month in their food bag/benefits and this allows them to properly prepare their vegetables and fruit for the family’s consumption.  This benefits the entire family as they eat healthier and properly prepared food.

Notification was sent out for our MYB (Middle of the Year Blessing); giving sponsors the opportunity to provide a pair of sturdy shoes for their Embrace children.  We have had a really good response so far and pray that we will be able to provide shoes for every Embrace child.  Sponsors give “extra” to help cover children who do not yet have a sponsor or whose sponsor is not participating with this project.  Most of these children have distances to walk to school everyday and when they come to their monthly Embrace meetings; having a good pair of shoes makes that so much easier.  We appreciate our sponsors’ generosity for going the extra mile for the Embrace children.

We also have been blessed to do some extra projects for some of our Embrace families from special funding that has come in to assist.  14 of our Embrace families are receiving a latrine for their family’s usage and 35 families are receiving eco-stoves that are in the process of being delivered.  The latrines will be completed by early May and the stoves should all be delivered in May as well.  What a blessing to these families to receive these extra perks to provide safer and healthier living for their families.
