EMBRACE ENTRIES UPDATE FOR JANUARY 2026

We have kicked off the new year in a flurry.  We have already had two days of registration where we signed up 28 new families into the Embrace program.  We are using a new system to measure and analyze the children’s health; which goes deeper than previous methods.  The board that we have used in the past with colors to show the basic BMI with the comparison of height and weight was created by WHO (World Health Organization); but there have been more recent additions made available (the Gold Standard) that takes more data into account to give a more complete picture of where the children really stand.  We are now taking into account the DOB and gender, along with weight and height and find that it gives us better information.  If you would like to research this out more, here is the link:

We have recently researched to know that we are using the best evaluation for the children.  For this reason, the new “Family History Sheets” will be later than usual being sent to the sponsors because we want the 2026 sheet to reflect this new system.  Our hope is to get these sent to sponsors by the beginning of February.

Our goal for 2026 is to increase our total enrollment by 50-100 children.  We would appreciate your prayers to stand with us on this; that we find the children with the most need and the new sponsors to cover them.

January and February are our “health months” where we really attempt to know where the children stand in their overall health.  Every child gave urine and stool samples that were sent to a local lab during their January meetings.  The results will allow us at the February meetings; to give medical checkups, led by Guatemalan doctors that can review the test results and help us to detect anything that needs to be addressed.

Embrace is about trying to address every aspect of the child’s health and overall well-being and we are so thankful to our sponsors that make this possible!
