March was a busy month for Embrace. We had our quarterly birthday celebration for the children who have their birthday during the months of January, February and March. Every child receives a small toy and we sing to them and pray over them. Everyone at the meetings enjoy some cake and drink. The children that have a sponsor also receive a coupon to use at our clinic store; to pick out something as a remembrance of their birthday. For almost all without exception; this is the only recognition that they will have for their birthdays. At home, and with a hand to mouth existence for many; a birthday is just another day. So, we try to make it special! The monthly devotional was taken from Philippians 4:9 and the health talk was about personal hygiene. We got a new dentist starting to work at the ministry clinic and am happy that this means that our Embrace children will have full access to their needs for cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings and extractions. It has been inconsistent for the last couple of years! We are happy to be able to see to the children’s dental needs, as they arise.
I want to give a heartfelt thank you from my heart to each of our sponsors. Some of you have been with us since close to the initiation of the Embrace program’s inauguration in 2000. Some of you have continued support and touched the lives of multiple children as we bring them back to full health. Many of you have had the opportunity to meet some of your children face to face and spent time with them and getting to truly know them. I just want you to know that you have made a difference for each of these children. We all can choose how to use our resources and I want to acknowledge your heart to reach out to bless a child(ren) from Guatemala!
