June was a busy month for Embrace. We celebrated the second quarter of birthdays; honoring those with birthdays in the months of April, May and June. We sing Happy Birthday to the children, pray over them, give each child a small toy and a coupon provided by their sponsor to purchase something at the ministry’s clinic’s store as a remembrance of their birthday. Everyone attending the meetings get cake and a drink to enjoy. That may not sound like a big deal to you but for most of these children; it will be the only recognition of this milestone in their life. The devotional was from Psalms 30 and the health talk was on the “Rights and Responsibilities of Children”. I am thrilled to announce that what was lacking on the MYB (Middle of the Year Blessing} did come in to reach our goal. This allows every Embrace child to receive new shoes next month. This month they had to select the “type” of shoe that they wanted; school shoes, tennis shoes, sandals or boots. We measured each child’s foot to be assured of what size that they need so that we can place a specific order for each child’s shoes. They will receive their shoes at their July meetings. A special “thank you” to all of our sponsors that helped us to once again reach our goal so that no child will be left out. Your generosity allows us to bring this blessing to the children.
