Angel is 6 years old and attends preschool. He lives in the village of Shupa with his parents and younger brother Brandon. His father works in farming and seasonal jobs, while his mother stays at home to care for the children.
The family lives in a one-room home that belongs to Angel’s grandparents. It is made of mud walls, a dirt floor, and a palm roof. They have some electricity and access to water, but no latrine. The family must go to a relative’s home to use the bathroom, and since they do not have a pila (sink), there is nothing to hold the water they collect. Cooking is done on a mud stove.
Angel is in the early stages of malnutrition. With support, he can grow stronger, continue his education, and thrive in his community.
